A day in the life

What is it like to be part of Nuttersons...

For more information about what it is like to work at Nuttersons we asked some of our current staff see what they think:
  • Ste - Technical Director
  • Kev - Creative Director
  • John - Operations Director
  • Holly - Senior Web developer
  • Cameron - Apprentice Graphic Designer
  • Fadlan - Apprentice Web Developer
  • Kev - Technical Director

Ste, Technical Director

Ste Studied Graphic Design at University and is one of the founders of Nuttersons.

"I studied graphic design at University in Coventry where I learnt all about design, composition, typefaces and coding. This really gave me a thirst for design and creating things.

Because we are quite a new company we are getting lots of new young talent in and we're growing very quickly. I think that anybody that joins us has a real opportunity to grow and expand with us as quickly as we do."

Kev, Creative Director

"It's a very relaxed and creative working environment. Each day is different, you get to come in and work with some other creative and like-minded individuals. The work is hard, but is enjoyable at the same time. Each project we get is a particular challenge, and each new challenge allows us to adapt and enhance our skillset.

If we can make a client happy, then we're happy too. If they're pleased with the end result, then we're pleased too as we have challenged ourselves to do something new and exciting for them and by meeting that challenge it means that we've exceeded the clients expectations and often our own expectations."

John, Operations Director

"Nuttersons is a great place to work; it's a wonderful mix of people from all kinds of backgrounds and professions. Everybody has the same mind-set that they want to do everything they can do to the very best of their ability.

I enjoy allowing people to flourish as individuals in a supportive environment, and if I can create the environment for those peoples to grow, then hopefully as a business, we will also be successful.

People can come and join us with relatively little experience or with transferable skills and we can really build on them, we spend a lot of time supporting our staff with the appraisal system and goal settings and regular meetings with managerial staff, I'd like to think that we can get the best out of every employee."

Holly, Senior Web Developer

Holly studied Web Developing at University and has worked at Nuttersons for 2 years.

"I have learnt loads whilst working here; I feel that when you go to University you learn the basics and you understand the theory but you don't need to go to University to be a web developer or to work as part of a creative company. You just need to be keen, you need to have some experience and you need to show interest.

You will learn more in the work place than at University."

Cameron, Apprentice Graphic Designer

Cameron studied Graphic Design at University before deciding to join Nuttersons and has been here for 5 and a half months.

"it's a fun company, everybody gets along with each other, there's a real good atmosphere."

Cameron is looking forward to doing work in the future that is more challenging and also looking forward to increasing the size of the Nuttersons work force.

"I enjoy being able to complete projects the way that I like and being able to put my own personal touch on the work I do."

Fadlan, Apprentice Web Developer

Fadlan recently finished college and has worked at Nuttersons for 5 and a half months.

"Best way to enter the industry was to get some hands-on experience.

What I enjoy most about working for Nuttersons is the working the environment. It's so relaxed, non-corporate and you are treated with the upmost respect by your colleagues. I think the relaxed environment helps to increase the productivity of everybody here at Nuttersons.

I feel that I have contributed a lot to the company in my time here and that my ideas have been taken on board and incorporated into the company's work."

Fadlan is looking forward to progressing and "becoming a bigger team member and taking on more responsibilities.

"Every day I receive some form of one-on-one training by my colleagues, whether this is some help with a certain task I have been given or learning something new."
