The University of Manchester are committed to giving their students as much experience and industry knowledge as possible, which includes facilitating internships and industry placements. Many of these opportunities are advertised through the university’s social media channels, but we’d love you to contact us directly if you’re a student looking for experience.

Industrial Placements

Many schools and disciplines at UoM include up to 12 month industrial placements as part of their degree courses. This allows students to spend time in an industry related to their course, and gain some real working experience. The placements are paid, and also count towards your final qualification. Spring and Summer Internships

Whilst some degrees don’t include internships as part of the curriculum, UoM encourage students to take part in internships wherever possible. The best time for students to take part is during Summer and Spring breaks, where they can join us for 2 to 12 weeks, working on live projects
